SOCIAL-TRAVEL CLUB LATEST NEWS - MAY TO JULY 2023 NEWS

2023.... Started the year with "A Return to Club Afternoon Tea" where some OLD and NEW Members met to tell of their Christmas
moments. A good roll-up numbering 35 and all had a good chat! then in March the AGM and a call for positions, Well volunteers are
a bit thins on the ground. The result was Jim McClymont; President Gordon Irving Secretary; Arthur Perry Treasurer; and Janine Orban and Jill Kemp, Committee Members.
The first event was The mystery BBQ. Unfortunately Members were not enthused with the out door theme and it was prosponed-=-- very sad!
Next; we were off to Mangrove Mountain, via Wisemans Ferry. Well this was definitely a "Bridge to Far". The last Bridge was closed to heavy traffic
so, we had to turn back, of course this took valuable time making the Lunch at Mangrove Club too late. After a few telephone calls cancelled. so Wisemans
Hotel here we come! The management welcomed us and prepared a Great Lunch. Then Finally we were on the way home> I can Say The Travel Group
certainly say some bush areas north of the Hawkesbury and found a New River! "The Mcdonald"! Most of us did not know it existed.
So Be prepared for our next adventure??? Before that happens its "Mother's Day" and a lunch is planned in the Alfreco Room of The Social Kitchen, so come and celebrate
"MUM"! If you wish to join a friendly adventuresome Group CONTACT Janine Orban 0413042315

SOCIAL-TRAVEL CLUB LATEST NEWS - MAY TO JULY 2022 NEWS

Another month ex-Covid and a new Committee. Just held our AGM and the following Members are on the Committee: Jim McClymont (Pres); Gordon Irving (Sec); Athur Perry (Treas); Janine Orban and Lina Meduro. I hope they enjoy their experiences on the Committee.

We have been dogged by bad weather lately and our Trip to Warragamba and Picton was no exception. The day started very average and went south very fast.
Limited viewing at Warragamba and none at Burragorang Lookout. Still there was comfort in the Vaby's Restaurant to end a washed-out day. As some of the Committe is new, urgent discussion on future events is required and cemented in place. The time between meetings seems to be very short and we need some long plans. We have a line-up of speakers into the year, so some good subjects should be canvased. Marylyn Methvan Has assumed the Speaker Resources position and she is well into bookings.

Our Meetings are held on the second Tuesday in the month at 2.00pm in the club, and if you wish to sound us out, just come along. We print a flyer every month listing our events; see the Club's Reception for a copy. For Membership ($5) or enquiries contact: Janine Orban 0413042315

SOCIAL-TRAVEL CLUB LATEST NEWS - FEBRUARY TO APRIL 2022 NEWS

We finished-off the Year by celebrating the Melbourne Cup and then the Gala Christmas show.
It was reported that we had a few winners on Melbourne Cup Day and that, they kept their
wins quiet, but, they were soon found out! We had a good turn-out to each event and
finished off a bad year well.

If all goes, according to plan we have a great year in front of us. the Committee has planned in advance for Clear Weather and Good Events in 2022.
The Club starts back on Tuesday, 8th February 2022 at 2.00pm and we welcome New and our current Member's to come and connect after the turmoil of 2021.

At Our first Meeting we will have a speaker from the Maritime Museum and announce projects for our Trips and Events for the New Year. Starting-off with a day trip to Thirroul and after a site-seeing drive lunch at our sister club The Thirroul Bowling. Then in March we are off to Burragorang Lookout to see the Views calling-in at Warragamba Dam.

In April we have the History Tour of the Hawkesbury River. They should each be very interesting and enjoyable trips. The Committee is now setting in place the latter six months of 2022. The Committee will consider some 3day trips which Members of the Club can mark for in for the year. All-in-all the programme for the year looks great. So; see you on the 8th February, 2022. New members are very welcome and can find out more by ringing Jill Kemp on 0419 266 530
