NEW BOARD DIRECTOR ANNOUNCED

Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Karen Alden (Waud) OAM to the position of Director following the recent Expressions of Interest (EOI) process.
The Club received a number of outstanding applications from highly qualified and passionate members. This strong response is both encouraging and a reflection of the depth of talent and commitment within our community. It also highlights the shared enthusiasm for shaping the future of our Club.
Karen’s appointment brings a wealth of experience and community connection to the Board. With over 44 years of service in sports administration and leadership, Karen has been recognised nationally with both the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) and the Australian Sports Medal for her contributions to sport and community. She has been instrumental in driving major initiatives such as the $41 million West Ryde Multi Sports Facility and has dedicated decades to leading local sporting clubs, including West Ryde Rovers.
In addition to her sporting and community achievements, Karen has shown great commitment to inclusivity and wellbeing through her work in disability support care. Her deep ties to West Ryde and her recent engagement in local politics further enhance her understanding of governance and community representation.
The Board is confident that Karen’s leadership, values, and lifelong dedication to the local area will greatly benefit Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club, our members, and the wider community. We look forward to working alongside Karen as we continue to deliver on our vision for the future.
