Babies
We offer classes for our bubs from 6 months of age up to the age of 3. These classes run from Monday to Friday from 11am to 12.30pm.
Either a parent or carer needs to get in the water with their baby for the class.
Class duration is 30 minutes
Cost per lesson is $14.00 payable by the term.
Class ratio is 1:8.
We offer two levels of baby classes;
Water Babies This class is for our younger babies aged from 6 to18months.Through songs and games the emphasis is on educating both the baby and carer in all aspect of water safety and familiarization in a fun and safe environment.
Aqua Babies These classes are for our babies aged between 18 and 36 months. Again parents or carers share the fun. Water confidence and elementary swimming skills are put in place and the swimmer is prepared for the move to our preschool classes.
Pre School
We offer classes for our pre school children from 3 to 5 years.
These classes run Monday to Friday 11– 12.30pm and Saturday morning’s
Duration of the class is 30 minutes.
Cost per lesson is $15.00 payable by the term.
Class ratio is 1:4
These lessons introduce your preschooler to their first lesson without a parent or carer in the water. Whist the emphasis is again on safety and survival skills we start to develop their swimming skills with the aim to them being able to swim independently over short distances and to safely return to the side of the pool and exit unaided.
We also have classes for the more advanced preschoolers where we introduce “big arms” and continue to develop their swimming over greater distances.
Learn to Swim
These classes are for our school aged children and are a very popular part of our program. These classes run Monday to Friday from 3.30 to 5pm and Saturday morning’s from 8am to 12.30pm.
Duration of the class is 30minutes
Cost per lesson is $15.50 payable by the term

School Aged Program
Salmon
The Salmon introduces our school age swimmer to the first level of swimming education. Water Safety and basic swimming skills are developed under the supervision of our qualified Instructors.
Stingray
With the foundation of swimming and safety skills now in place our swimmers are introduced to basic freestyle, back kicking and diving.
Kicking and arm co ordination are the main focus in this level.
Swordfish
Now that the coordination is in place, and our swimmers are becoming stronger ,we introduce breathing technique in freestyle. Backstroke coordination is developed and fine tuned and diving is advanced.
Sharks
Duration is 30minutes Ratio is 1:7
Class works over 15 to 25 metres.
The class builds our swimmers stamina, refines their freestyle and backstroke and introduces breast stroke, the racing dive and tumble turns.
Dolphins
Duration is 45minutes Ratio is 1:8
Class works over 25 metres
Our swimmers gain advanced stroke correction and continue to build on their stamina at this level. They are introduced to butterfly, and breast stroke is refined.
Elements of racing are refined e.g. starts and turns.
Stroke Correction
Cost is $16.00 per lesson payable by the term.
All strokes are introduced and endurance and good form are the focus in these levels.
Mini Squads
Duration is 1 hour Ratio is 1:8
Class works over 25metres
Butterfly is refined and continual stroke correction is given whilst building our swimmers endurance. Mini Squad children swim around 1.5 kilometers per session and is a solid introduction to the squad levels.
Squads
Cost $14.00 per session or $21.00 for 2 sessions per week. Duration for B Squad is 1.25 hours and A Squad is 1.5 hours. Ratio is 1:12 over 2 lanes.
Squads are our senior level of the Swim School. They swim between 2.5 and 4 kms per session. Swimmers must be capable of doing all four competitive strokes, turns and dives.

Special Needs
Duration-30 minutes Cost $15.00 per lesson payable by the term These are generally smaller classes depending on the needs of the swimmer .Due to the availability we do not offer make up lessons for the Special Needs Program.
Private Lessons
Cost $45.00 or a block of 5 for $180.00 Duration 30 minutes These lessons are subject to availability.
Holiday Programs
Duration is dependant on the level.
They are held in the school holidays and are only available to swimmers already in our program.
These lessons are intensive in that they held over 5 consecutive days and can help the swimmer improve very quickly.
Adults
Duration 45minutes
Cost $15.00 per lesson payable by the term.
Ratio 1:6 or 1:8 for our intermediate classes
You are never to old or too young to learn to swim. Swimming is a great low impact form of exercise with benefits for both your cardiovascular system and muscle toning. With a lot of our leisure time spent around water it is a skill that is essential to have and may one day save your life or that of someone else.
Swim School Fees
All Swim School fees are due in the first two weeks of term.
At the end of each term you will be required to pay either a $30 deposit or full fees to hold your swimmer’s position for the term that follows.
The Swim School has a NO Refund or Credit Policy.
Fees for The Fitness Edge Swim School are all GST inclusive.

Make up Lesson Policy of our Swim School
As a benefit to all our swimming families we do offer make-up lessons if your swimmer/s are unwell or cannot make their class.
If your swimmer is unwell, it is important that they not attend lessons. This is so that they have the chance to get better, as well as not passing on the illness to other swimmers. By notifying the Swim School Office 24 hours in advance of their lesson we can offer them a make up lesson. If they fall sick within 24 hours of their lesson, we will require a Doctor’s Certificate, but still call us prior to their lesson to let us know.
If you are going away and can’t attend lessons we again require 24 hours notice to be eligible for a make-up lesson.
Please note that Make Up lessons are offered subject to availability and the full payment of fees.
They must be taken in the current term and we allow only 2 per swimmer, per term.
