46 Club staff gave up their Sunday morning on 7th November to run the 10km charity Run4Fun race. The Run4Fun aims to raise vital funds for sick kids in NSW through three children’s hospitals, including the local Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The Club’s Board of Directors matched the staff’s physical efforts by donating $100 for each staff member who completed the run, a total of $4600 for The Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI).

LEAGUES CLUB - 13th YEAR SUPPORTING GENES FOR JEANS DAY

Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club began supporting Genes for Jeans Day way back in 1997. Last August club staff kept up its charitable tradition by donating a fantastic $760 for Genes for Jeans Day Sydney 2010.

“I’m extremely pleased by the staff’s support this year,” said Human Resources Manager Joanne Luke. “Everywhere I looked in the club I saw staff wearing their jeans and committing to such a worthy cause. And the more money they donated, the more we as a club were able to contribute, as the board of directors match any money raised by staff.”

Every year since 1997, the team’s efforts have raised thousands of dollars to support programs for The Children's Medical Research Institute to prevent leukemia, muscular dystrophy, genetic defects and many other disorders.

“We certainly won’t be stopping here,” said Joanne. “I’d like to see the club committed to the cause for another 13 years and beyond.”

Ryde-Eastwood Leagues Club champions the true spirit of the Clubs Movement with an ongoing dedication to serve its community.
